Red Lodge Community Foundation Fun Run Raises $$
For a second year Friends of the Beartooth All-American Road will be participating in the Red Lodge Area Community Foundation Fun Run 8. The Run served as a major fundraiser for FBAAR in 2010 with over $800 raised. This year FBAAR has identified two projects that will benefit from dollars raised September 3 at Fun Run 8.
1.) FBAAR has set aside money for the development of a Beartooth Highway Interpretive Kiosk for the Red Lodge Visitor Center. Plans are in the works and a final design should be completed by the end of October. Once the design plans are in place FBAAR will begin fundraising for fabrication of the kiosk. A portion of the funds raised on September 3, 2011 during the Fun Run 8 will be used for kiosk building!
2.) With over 200,000 hits every year, the official Beartooth Highway web site is a key resouce for travelers, information centers, and area businesses looking for current information on the Beartooth Highway. A portion of the funds raised on September 3, 2011 during Fun Run 8 will be used to maintain the www.beartoothhighway.com web site.

How will your contribution be used?
Friends of the BAAR provides travelers with information about the Beartooth Highway as well as maintaining websites and providing support to visitor centers near the Byway.
As a 501 (c)(3) organization FBAAR relies on contributions from supporters to continue operations. Membership dues generate operating dollars each year, and the organization is continually searching and applying for grants that will fund specific projects. However, the most effective way for FBAAR to secure funding for both project and operating expenses is through direct donations.
Some of the specific projects FBAAR will be working on in 2010 include:
