Why do we need your support?
In 2002, US Hwy 212, often referred to as the Beartooth Highway received designation as an "All- American Road". The Friends of the Beartooth All- American Road (BAAR) was created to provide local communities, businesses and individuals a collective voice to guide and influence the future of this amazing resource.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission of interpreting, promoting and preserving the BAAR through partnerships with the gateway communities of Cody, Wyoming, and Cooke City and Red Lodge, Montana.
Membership in FBAAR accomplishes several things:
Community and public involvement in guiding the future of the Road. Only through public input can management agencies develop and maintain resources that are important to Beartooth All-American Road users. Outdoor recreation enthusiasts may be looking for more camping and hiking opportunities, fly fishermen may be working to maintain one of the last pristine waterways in America, drivers on the Road may be looking for high quality interpretive information to enhance their visit to the highway. FBAAR works to gather this type of input and keep it at the forefront of conversations with community partners. This ensures that the Beartooth Highway
Brings grant dollars to the Road. A majority of FBAAR's funding comes from grant dollars. With membership dues securely in the bank the FBAAR Project Coordinator and Board of Directors can continue to apply for grant dollars to use on BAAR projects.
